Guatemalan food

Th local food is mainly influenced by Mayan, Mexican, and Spanish cultures.  Often part of the meal are corn tortillas freshly made and served hot. The most known food is maybe Tamales: cornmeal dough stuffed with fillings and wrapped in corn or plantings leaf. Very good local coffee is also a must try. Pupusas are also popular but it is technically a Salvadorian food. Bananas and plantains are often fried and served as a side dish.
