I was very lucky to be in Nagoya during the right time to see one of the grand Sumo tournament events in Japan. There are 6 events per year, three in Tokyo (January, May and September) and one each in Osaka (March), Nagoya (July) and Fukuoka (November).
I was lucky to be in Nagoya on the right day, and more lucky to actually find a ticket to get in because the event(s) are usually sold months in advance. Me and a friend just went anyway and were super lucky to buy unused tickets from a Japanese elder couple. The experience was surreal.
Here are some picture of the event.
